Lara is an artist and educator based in New York City.  Through photo/video, prose, and craft, her work explores relationships of self and place.  As a Vietnamese-Cuban-American born and raised in Texas, her own experience of place has been marked by a sense of mystery and estrangement.  Time in Cuba, Guatemala, Mexico, and France has impacted her practice.  Since 2015, Lara has been teaching video production at the Fashion Institute of Technology.  She is currently writing and editing To Seneca, a 12-part artist book series set along the boundary of Ridgewood, Queens and Bushwick, Brooklyn.
